We prepare you for a career in consulting. By the end of the program, you will be well-prepared to apply for competitive internships in the industry.
Deadline:
26th of Oct, 11:59 PM
“I joined to learn about consulting – but I stayed for the amazing community and meaningful projects.”
"If you're at the beginning of your studies and interested in consulting, you should definitely consider joining."
“At 180DC Frankfurt you will make a positive impact, learn from experienced mentors, and meet motivated people.”
Provide an overview of your work history, academic journey, and extracurricular activities. If you need a template, you can use the one below:
TemplateShare your passion for consulting and specifically 180DC Frankfurt. Write about how your previous experience will help you succeed. Half a page to one page is enough!
Please include academic transcripts and references from previous employment, if available.
The goal of the assessment center is for both parties to find out whether they are a good fit for each other. That is why we aim to be as transparent as possible, giving you an accurate impression of what you can expect at 180DC Frankfurt, including all benefits and responsibilities.
All candidates will be interviewed twice. Each interview consists of a brief introduction (5min), a personal fit section (20min), a short case study (20min), and your chance to ask the interviewer individual questions in the end (5min). All interviews will be held in German.
The personal fit section helps us to assess your motivation and whether you are likely to develop with us throughout the membership. We will ask questions about your motivations, background, and the rationale behind certain life decisions.
The case study helps us to assess your problem-solving skills and whether you are likely to do well on our projects. Each candidate will encounter one market sizing and one simplified business problem. We recommend candidates to train their structuring, calculation, and communication abilities.
Our team will review each candidate individually. We do not recruit a set amount of student consultants, so our decision for one candidate does not compete with another. All candidates will receive detailed feedback on their performance on the same day, regardless of our decision. All successful candidates are invited to join our team for dinner the same day to celebrate their membership.
Visit us at Goethe's 'UNISTART-Messe'. You will find our stand outside. Get to know our members and ask questions in a personalised setting!
Our first info session will be hosted online. You will get an overview of our student club and the chance to talk to our consultants in break-out rooms.
Our second event will take place in person. We will talk about our club and answer questions. There will be enough pizza, beer, and wine for everyone.
Absolutely. Over 30% of our members have a non-business background. Through our consulting bootcamp we make sure that everyone is equally prepared for the project work.
An average of 5-10h/week when working on projects. About 1-2h/week when working as internal staff. Actual weekly hours may vary according to the project phase.
Internally, we communicate in German, just as we do in our daily lives. We chose to build our website in English to accommodate our international clients. Members can express their preferences for projects that involve English client communication.
New joiners are expected to complete two projects in their first year as part of our consulting program. After that, members can transition into a more passive role, supporting our internal departments if needed.
We designed our program to ensure enough time for studying. All club activities are paused one month before exams. Based on our experience, our consultants successfully participate in the program and still perform well on their exams.
Documents can be submitted in German or English.
Yes.
No. Students from the entire Frankfurt area are welcome to apply. However, we expect everyone to attend events in person. Most of our members study at Goethe University, Frankfurt School or TU Darmstadt.
We recommend every candidate to prepare thoroughly for both, the personal fit and case study interview.
For the personal fit interview, reflect on your life journey and future ambitions. Think about how different phases in your life have shaped who you are, both personally and professionally. You should be able to clearly articulate why you want to do certain things.
For the case interview, practice your structuring, communication, and mental math (accuracy for simple calculations) abilities. We suggest doing 3-5 mock interviews with friends to get comfortable with the typical case flow. If you are looking for case prep resources, we recommend the free course from crafting cases, especially the market sizing, math, and brainstorm module.
Yes. We offer digital interviews for exceptional applicants who cannot attend one of our assessment centers. The interview content remains the same.
No. We hire based on talent, not experience. Most of our new members each year are first-year students.
